27 September 2013 in Peterborough:
Deafblind Enablement (DBE) celebrated Debbie James's 30 years working with and for deafblind people with over 40 deafblind people, their family members, Communicator-guides and friends, presenting her with a beautiful vase and presents. Debbie was overwhelmed and is looking forward to continuing her work as Director at DBE.
This 1st National Annual Rally event enabled deafblind people to meet with old and new friends, valuing peer support, a large raffle, good food and meeting communicator-guides from a variety of areas.
Ann Barnett, Rodney Clark, Jill Johnson and Guy Scholes were all profusely thanked and presented with certificates for working with and for deafblind people for over 20 years.
Some of DBE's Awareness Officers attended the day, with Dr Philip Gafga, Consultant on Deafblindness, see the photo here
With grateful thanks to the Richmond Trust for their kind donation, contributing to the cost of the day.
DBE's 2nd Annual Rally will be held on 19th September 2014, contact Debbie on 0755 709 2282 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
